STUDENT REVIEWS

I cannot recommend Julie enough for everything that she has done for our daughter Izzy. Since we started our sessions, Izzy's confidence has grown, Julie has taught her coping strategies to deal with her anxiety in and out of class, she can focus more clearly and her writing has improved dramatically. Devastated to be moving towns or we would continue to use Julie for the rest of Izzy's primary school years. The best part - SHE LOVES TO GO! Izzy asks to go see Julie even when it's not time for a session. That in itself is priceless.

I have previously reviewed Julie but would like to just add my absolute gratitude for her dedication, patience and support of our son. Patrick is now year 11 and has been going to Julie since 2013. Patrick started being able to read mid 2014, and started back at school 2015 and today Julie suggested that his progress has been so good that a dedicated High School tutor might be better to help Patrick achieve his potential. Potential that Julie helped Patrick discover. School has stopped being that anxiety filled place that he hated to even think about attending to somewhere he is starting to recognise might be a good place to be. A miracle. Thank you Julie for your help and support.

My daughter (Kelsey) was 12 when she began Maths tutoring with Julie. She was near the end of year 6 and struggling to keep up in class, often failing class Math tests and exams. We always knew she was a capable student however she had missed many important early maths concepts and lacked the confidence to 'speak up' in class and ask for help. Kelsey went to Julie once a week for just over a year and immediately the difference was measurable. Julie worked on 'filling the gaps' in Kelsey's maths knowledge while also helping her overcome the negative associations she had with this subject. She taught Kelsey strategies to recognise when she is beginning to feel anxious and how to relax and take control of these situations. I am pleased to report Kelsey is now in her first year of high school and doing extremely well. She feels very positive about her maths and has great test results, her last assessment resulting in a 92% achievement. Kelsey is now a confident learner with a healthy attitude to learning new skills in all areas of life. We went to Julie hoping for an improvement in the area of maths but we got so much more. We can't thank Julie enough for helping our daughter unlock her true potential.

My son was 13 when he started with Julie and was struggling with blends let alone reading. We now have 2 hours a week with her and my son, now 14, who has struggled with learning since Kindy, has finally started to recognise his own improvement and feel pride in his achievement. Julie's support goes beyond the two hours with lesson plans and ideas to support and follow up her tutoring for throughout the week. Julie has excellent understanding of the learning difficulties that students can suffer and importantly has the resources, tools and training required to identify areas of learning that need to be supported. I have recommended Julie to my friends and other parents already as her passion for helping students is GREATLY appreciated by this family. "Julie is a great tutor and I would really recommend her to other people." Says my 14 yr old son. (and if any of you KNEW my boy, you would realise how PROFOUND that statement is. :).
